What it was: Built a website for Alchemy Analytics, a startup selling stock market indicators to traders. They needed something that looked professional and could handle online sales.
The Setup My friend was handling the backend with Django/Python, so I focused on the frontend and making sure everything worked together smoothly. The goal was pretty straightforward - create a clean website where people could browse and buy their trading indicators.
What I Built
Homepage - Clean landing page that explains what they do without being too salesy
Shop page - Product listings with prices and descriptions, basic e-commerce stuff
User accounts - Login/registration so customers could manage their purchases
Checkout flow - Simple payment process that connects to their backend
The Challenges The biggest pain point was coordinating with the Django backend since I was working with someone else's API design. Had to go back and forth a few times to get the data flowing right between frontend and backend. Also spent more time than expected making sure the checkout process was bulletproof.
Making it look good on mobile was another thing that took longer than planned, but that's pretty standard these days.
Tech Stuff Frontend handles the UI and user interactions, communicates with the Django backend through REST APIs. Made sure it works on phones, tablets, desktops - the usual responsive design requirements.
How it Turned Out The site worked well and looks professional without being over the top. Customers can browse products, create accounts, and complete purchases without issues.
Bottom Line Solid project that came together well despite the usual coordination challenges of working with a separate backend developer. Clean, functional e-commerce site that does what it needs to do.
